These days, health and wellness seem to be at the forefront of our collective minds. Physical, mental, and emotional health have been increasingly popular topics in the news, on social media, and discussed among friends, especially within the last few years. With that increased focus, we’re honored to be a part of the solution that you choose to help make your wellness routine just a little easier.

We’re proud to be celebrating our 50-year anniversary, not only because of what it means for us, but also because it means that you’ve been utilizing the products that we’ve been providing — and trusting us enough to return for more. In celebration of this milestone, we’re looking back at where we started, how we’ve grown, and how we have become trusted by consumers, and how we will continue to do everything we can to support your wellness routine.

The most important thing to note: reaching our 50-year anniversary isn’t so much about the number as it is about trust; the trust that you’ve put in us to provide you with simple, yet essential, products to help you and your family.

The Inception of a Legacy Company

Fifty years. Five decades. Half a century. It’s a long time! And for us, it all started with a single product. In 1973, our co-founders Ron Olson and Terry Noble created the Reconstitube, a product that created an efficient way to dilute antibiotics. Two years later, the duo founded Apothecary Products to begin selling a unique lineup of medication management products. What started as two individuals and one product 50 years ago has expanded to a growing team, over 70 patents, and nearly two dozen acquisitions and brand launches of products that are used worldwide.

Growth, Expansion, and Becoming a Brand Trusted by Consumers

Nine years after the inception of Apothecary Products, we had our first exciting expansion: we launched the Ezy Dose brand, which is highlighted by medication management products like pill organizers. Arguably our most widely-known brand, several of our Ezy Dose products have been endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation. These products have been dubbed by the Arthritis Foundation as “ease of use products” and help those with limited mobility make everyday tasks, like medication management routines, easier.

But it’s more than just a single endorsement that’s helped us to become a legacy company that’s trusted by consumers. Fifty years ago, we started with that one product to serve a specific need — a product that’s still in use in pharmacies around the world today. Since then, we’ve expanded our products from the medication management category to include ear care, eye care, basic first aid and wellness kit essentials. The most recent expansion happened last year when we acquired Equdose, which has a premium line of healthcare solutions, like their highly-rated pill cutter. The acquisitions and launches have helped us not only succeed in the market but have also allowed us to provide a more complete solution to your home health needs.

A Wide Variety to Provide You with Solutions

Throughout the years, we’ve continued to diversify our product offerings based on needs we’ve seen and heard from consumers. Throughout it all, our mission has remained constant — to create products that make caring for yourself and your loved ones just a little easier. In part, we can look to innovation and prioritizing customer feedback as what has guided us to these trusted solutions. We’ve become market leaders not only in medication management, but also in pharmacy supply, ear care, eye care, and injury care. We take pride in developing products that solve customer needs.

Being agile has helped. With people, trends, and routines changing fast and becoming more personalized, we’ve been able to respond quickly when you share what kind of products you need.

Products Made for You, Based on Your Feedback

One of those needs we’ve responded to is with our most recent product launch, the Hush Hear Hoops. We designed these unique earplugs after hearing feedback from customers that they were still searching for an earplug that not only worked but was actually comfortable. Through that, we were able to design a unique product that delivered on what customers said was missing. That’s just one way we’ve worked to reimagine products to fulfill customer needs.

Everything we do, every product we launch, and every brand we acquire is with the end user — you — in mind. Our purpose always has been and will continue to be making providing care a little easier.
